年明け早々、再び出国。
年明け早々、再び出国。
羽田空港。
ソウル行き全日空の機内。
飛行機の中から何気にぼうっと外を見ていたら、
あることに気がついた。
整備の人かな？3人くらいの人が、
離陸するために動き出した飛行機に向かって
一礼をした。
そういえば・・・
飛行機の中に乗っていて、よく見る光景ではあるが、
実はこれ、日本でしか見たことがない。
『どうか、無事に、行ってらっしゃいませ』
頭を下げたままの姿勢に
そんな声が聞こえてくる。
というか、その「動き」が、その「姿勢」が、
そう語った。
ただ腰を折り曲げ、頭を下げただけなのに、
ハッキリ気持ちのこもった礼だと理解できる。
それがジャンボの機体に向けての礼か、
パイロットに向けた礼か、乗客に向けたものか定かではないが、
なんだか妙に、穏やかな気持ちになる。
よく花に気持ちをかけてやるとキレイに咲くけど、
やっぱりシンパシーというか、気持ちをかけることは
命あるものとして、大事なことなのかもしれない。
それは簡単なことだと解っていても、
誰でもそれができるものでもない。
でもこういう行為は、必ず人を気持ちよくすることができる。
以前は嫌なところばかり目に付いたもんだけど、
海外にいく回数が増えれば増えるほど、
日本のいいところが目に付くようになってきた。
なんとなく、そんなことを思った2006年始です。
そういえば以前、
スティーブ・ベイカー（前Tomato代表）さんと
居酒屋で飲んだときに、こんなことを言っていた。
「日本が好きだと思える瞬間は、
夜中の首都高の料金所で、
係のおじいさんが、料金を払ったら会釈して
領収書を渡すところだ」
僕らは、ただの礼と、
気持ちのこもった礼を見分けることができる。
同じく、頭を下げるのに、
そこに気持ちを感じることができる。
遠くて、その顔の、表情なんか見えなくても、
その眼を想像することができる。
いつも思う。
この見えるもの以上を見極める力が、
感受性なのかな、と。
これを感じる力が、想像力を生むのかな、と。
そういえば、スティーブはこうも言っていた。
「人間にとって大事なことは、storyだよ
生きていくうえでも、クリエイティブな仕事をする上でも」
これには思わず、深い、と思った。
空港でのお辞儀から、
新年早々、そんな話を思い出してしまいました。
みなさま、あけましておめでとうございます。
2006年も、いろいろあるでしょうが、
今年のいかなる経験も
素晴らしいと思える
一年でありますことを祈ります。
